Brother

This little girl loves adores her brother. She watches him, and plays with him, and learns from him.

When she awoke in the middle of the night last night this was our exchange:

"Sleeping mommy."
"You're sleeping honey?"
"Dreaming."
"You were dreaming? What were you dreaming about?"
"Jaden."
"You were dreaming about Jaden? What were you doing?"
"Playing. Toys."

And tonight when I checked on her before bed:
"Jaden?"
"Jaden is sleeping honey"
"Peek him."
"You want to peek at him in his bed?"
So we opened the door to his room and looked at him sleeping.
"Night-night Jaden."

Errands

Tuesday was Brian's day off. Instead of a fun, relaxing, family day we had lots of annoying errands to run. I enticed everyone by saying after we dropped the car off at the dealership to get repaired we could go to breakfast. Everyone was happy with the proposal and looking forward to it. As we walk through the front door of the restaurant Ailia vomits.
Right in the doorway.
On the floor.

No family breakfast.

Patch

Jaden woke up with a red spot and scratch very close to his left eye.
Upon discussion, he informed me he accidentally did it while playing.
(a self-inflicted wound by a tape measure)...
I replied (rhetorically of course) with, "Jaden what are we gonna do with you?"
His response?

"Put a patch on it!"

Trouble

Kiss You

As I was putting Ailia to bed tonight in her dark room she said, "kiss you." (remember the backwards pronouns)
Me: "you want me to kiss you baby?"
Ailia: "yes"
I kiss her head.
Ailia: "mouf"
Me: "you want me to kiss you on the mouth?"
I go to kiss her on the mouth.
She opens her mouth and sticks out her tongue at the last moment~
Gross.
She then proceeds to laugh and laugh...

Teeth

Jaden: "Since God can do anything, even if he didn't have teeth he could still eat."
Jaden: "He can Mom, really."

Questions

Jaden: "Mom do I ask too many questions?"
Mom: "No, not at all"
Jaden: "I do for you, but not for God."

Lunch

Brian made the mistake of asking Jaden what kind of sandwhich he would like for lunch. The answer? Peanut butter, jelly, banana, and salami!
Of course he ate the whole thing!

Reverse Pronouns

One of the cutest things we hear from Ailia as she is reaching out and communicating to us is her mismatched pronouns. When she wants to be held she will look up and say, "hold you," or when she has gifted us with yet another dirty diaper she will say, "change you," or if she is struggling and needs us to to offer her assistance she will say, "help you." We know it is a phase, but so sweet, and so endearing.

Translation = Eat Pizza!
Who has time to say both words when one word is faster and means the same thing?
