4 y/o
Jaden:
"When my children are four years old I'm going to let them ride their bike wherever they want and eat all the treats and gum any time they want."

Love her too much
While getting Ailia dressed to go play in the pool I told her, "no pooping in the pool honey." Jaden asked, "what would you do if she did?" I replied, "I don't know, throw her in the trash can?" And he responded with, "No, we love her too much!"

Baby
Relaxing in the sun, watching the kids splash in the kiddie pool...
Jaden turns to me and asks, "Mom, are you gonna have another baby?"
(I didn't realize I looked that big in my bathing suit!)
when I asked him why he simply replied, "I was just asking."

Broccoli
Daddy to Jaden: "You should eat your broccoli, it is full of cancer fighting antioxidants."
Jaden to Daddy: "You know what is better than broccoli?"
Daddy: "What?"
Jaden : "Loving God."

Love you more than...
"Mom, I love you more than 116 lightposts stacked on each other."
"Is that a lot?"
"Is that a lot?"
Slubs
Jaden has been bug hunting lately. This is slightly odd as he has recently developed a fear of insects (I read in a child development book that they become fearful during new developmental stages) and endured his first bee sting. He catches the bugs and puts them in a "house" and watches them. He showed me his first (victim) catch and told me it was a slub.
You may know it more as a slug, but in our family we apparently refer to them as slubs.

Scared of her own shadow... (literally!)
Our dear sweet girl has recently discovered her shadow. And she is not a fan. It happened as we were walking home from the park in the evening. She was walking a few feet in front of me and as we got closer to the fence she spotted, began lifting her feet up and down (as if to shake it) and then screamed, started crying, and ran to me.
I tried my best to show her it was harmless, make it move, wave, and wiggle but she clung to me tighter than ever. She refused to walk home or be let out of my arms. Now whenever the sun is shining and she spots her shadow, she cries, and runs to us.
I guess it is just the price you have to pay for living in Central New York where the sun only shines a few times a year - and freaks small children out with the novelty of it...

Soccer
We signed up for another season of soccer. This time outdoor. Jaden is really loving it. He gets to run and kick and score goals - what could be better?
Fair Haven
On July 25th we headed to Fair Haven Beach State Park. It was the perfect day. Sunny and warm. We brought our lunch, played on the beach, swam (the water was 68 degrees! Brrrr...) and played on the playground. These two are such fun at the beach.
